Import vendors from Okta

Gjall can automatically discover the SaaS apps your team is using by reading your Okta application catalog. Connect once, review the matches, and add vendors to monitoring in seconds.

How it works

Gjall uses an Okta API token (read-only) to call the Okta Apps API and fetch your active application list. Each app name is matched against Gjall's vendor registry of 100+ known SaaS vendors. You review the matches and choose which to add to monitoring.

After import, Gjall immediately starts scanning each vendor for CVEs, status incidents, and breach data — no manual setup required.

Step 1 — Get an Okta API token

1
Log in to your Okta Admin Console at your-org.okta.com/admin
2
Go to Security API Tokens
3
Click Create Token. Name it Gjall vendor import.
4
Copy the token immediately — it's only shown once.

Permission scope: Gjall only needs read access to the app catalog (okta.apps.read). You can create a service account with minimal permissions if preferred.

Step 2 — Connect in Gjall

1
Go to Settings → Integrations in your Gjall dashboard.
2
Under Import vendors from Okta, enter:
  • Your Okta domain (e.g. yourcompany.okta.com)
  • The API token you just created
3
Click Connect and preview. Gjall will validate the token and fetch your app list.

Step 3 — Review and import

1
A preview modal shows all your active Okta apps with vendor matches:
  • Green checkmark — app matched to a known vendor
  • No match — custom or internal app, not in registry
  • Already monitoring — already in your Gjall vendor list
2
Use the checkboxes to select which vendors to add. Matched vendors are pre-selected by default.
3
Click Import selected. Gjall adds the vendors and starts historical backfill immediately.

Syncing again later

After the initial import, click Sync now in Settings → Integrations to re-fetch your Okta app list. New apps added to Okta since the last sync will appear in the preview modal.

Vendors already in your Gjall list will be marked "Already monitoring" and won't be imported twice.
