Integration guide

Linear

Automatically create Linear issues when Gjall detects high or critical severity alerts for your vendors. Keeps your security work tracked alongside engineering tasks.

Prerequisites

  • A Linear workspace with a team to receive security issues
  • A Linear Personal API key (not an OAuth token)
  • Gjall owner or admin role

Step 1 — Get your Linear API key

1
Open Linear and go to Settings API Personal API keys.
2
Click Create key, give it a label like Gjall, and copy the key. It starts with lin_api_.

Step 2 — Find your Linear team ID

1
In Linear, go to Settings Teams and select your team.
2
Copy the Team ID shown in the URL or team settings panel. It looks like TEAM_ABC.

Step 3 — Configure in Gjall

1
Go to Settings → Integrations.
2
Under Linear integration, paste your API key and team ID, then click Save.

How it works

When Gjall detects a high or critical severity alert for any of your monitored vendors, it automatically creates a Linear issue in the team you configured.

What's included in the Linear issue

  • Alert title and severity level
  • Vendor name and affected product
  • CVE ID or incident reference (when available)
  • Link to the full alert in Gjall
  • Gjall's AI triage summary and recommended action

Note:Gjall deduplicates issues — if a Linear issue already exists for the same CVE or incident, a second issue won't be created.
